The initial release of the Further Flex Titanium Spatula quickly sold out and have just added more to the store.
The ‘Further Flex’ model of the titanium spatula is a version of a fish spatula which, as the name implies, is more flexible. Why would this be necessary? I’m glad you asked. To answer this question we must start with the chickens. Or… the eggs?
Back in 2023 I completed our chicken coop (Insert photo) and we embarked on a lovely journey of owning various fowl. It started with guineas, which are an interesting combination of silly and beautiful. And loud. The flock of 20 didn’t last through the next spring (various wildlife attacks, followed by a mercy slaughter in early 2024), but beforehand we did get several eggs with notably hard shells. Nary an abundance, however.
Then we started on chickens. It took us all of 2024 and into 2025 to learn just how many baby birds to buy, and how often, to keep the hope of a consistent egg-laying pipeline afloat. By the time we got this strategy down we had slightly overcorrected our original bird problems (of everyone getting murked all the time), and by early spring 2024 we were pulling in 8 beautiful brown ovoid beauties per day. Egg city!
It quickly became a priority to figure out what to do with all these things. With two young children and a new baby on the way, I was determined to get eggs on everyone’s plates. The answer? Crepes! Something neither Megan nor I had ever made from scratch, I found this recipe and whipped it up one Saturday in the blender. (As you will see in the recipe, the blender is an important part of it). Titanium cookware (the fish spatula, specifically), immediately became another important part after Megan took the reins on crepe-making. She is the primary breakfast preparer in our household, and this quickly became a Saturday expectation for our kids. Being the systems-oriented person that she is, she crafted an exact method for making Saturday crepes, which included the use of a Haburn Titanium Further Flex spatula for its thinness and flexibility to bend under such a delicate dish without breaking it. In this particular case, she desired something that would handle crepes with the necessary finesse, and the further flex spatula became the product she didn’t know she needed. Laser engraved “Mommy” on the handle, with our three children’s names on the opposite side, she was a thrilled recipient of an even better tool for flipping flat fancy fowl-egg-treats with finesse.
When all our birds met their sudden demise this past summer (that story is for another) the homegrown eggs came to a grinding halt… but the crepes go on (with store-bought eggs) and the Further Flex titanium spatula reigns as the Saturday morning hero of the Rogers home.
(Bird stories to be continued… And it does get more exciting…)
Due to the superior strength and ductility of titanium as a material, flexibility is possible! Now, you have options.
